現状把握 を英語で教えて!

・Getting a sense of the current situation.
・Assessing the situation.

「状況を把握しようとしているところだよ」というニュアンスです。まだ完全に理解はしていないけれど、情報収集をしたり、周りの様子を見たりして「全体像をつかもうとしている」段階で使います。

ビジネスの会議の冒頭や、新しいプロジェクトに参加した時など、まず何が起きているか知りたい、という場面にぴったりです。

Before we make any decisions, we need to spend some time getting a sense of the current situation.
何かを決定する前に、まずは現状把握に時間を費やす必要があります。

ちなみに、「Assessing the situation.」は「ちょっと状況を見極めてる」という感じです。何か問題が起きた時や、どう動くべきか判断に迷う時に「今、情報を集めて分析してるところなんだ」と伝えたい場面で使えます。深刻な場面だけでなく、ゲームの戦略を練る時などにも使える便利な一言ですよ。

現状把握

grasp は「つかむ」「握る」などの意味を表す動詞ですが、「把握する」「理解する」などの意味も表せます。また、present は「プレゼント」「贈り物」などの意味を表す名詞ですが、形容詞として「現在の」という意味を表せます。
