Have a vested interest
・Have a stake in the matter.
・Have a dog in the fight.

We both have a vested interest in this, so it's understandable that negotiations are taking a while...

「Have a vested interest」

It's understandable since we both have a stake in the matter, but....

Well, since we both have a dog in this fight, it's understandable that the negotiations are tough.

Have a stake in the matterは、問題や状況に直接関与している、またはその結果に影響を受ける可能性があることを表します。一方、Have a dog in the fightはより具体的で、2つ以上の勢力やグループが競争または対立している状況で、その中で特定の勢力を支持または利益を得ることを示します。

It takes a lot of time to negotiate with other companies, it can't be helped because both companies are involving interests.

it can't be helpedは「仕方のない事だ」という意味で非常に便利なフレーズですのでぜひ覚えておきましょう!
